Pin and Stretch
Pin and stretch techniques recruit client participation for their effectiveness. Specific areas are identified in muscles and tendons where overuse has caused repeated injury, and congestive scar tissue has built up. This scaring can entrap nearby nerves, shorten the potential length of muscles and overtax and inflame tendons. By applying focused pressure while the client performs specific motions to lengthen the tissue in these targeted areas, scars can be broken up and the underlying tissue release. This increases blood flow, reduces nerve pain, improves range of motion, and increases strength. This work is often quite intense, but has excellent benefits for people suffering from chronic injuries and pain.
